restoring clarity under pressure
Biology of Being exists to help people regain clarity when life starts moving faster than their internal system can keep up with.
When our ambition, intelligence, and discipline are undermined by pressure, speed, and cognitive load, we lose our capacity to regulate and clarity collapses.
Thinking becomes harder.
Reactivity replaces choice — and self-trust begins to slip.
Biology of Being® works at the level where this breakdown actually occurs.
This is not a mindset problem. Pushing through doesn’t restore clarity.
Positive thinking doesn’t stabilize a stressed system. Muscling through doesn’t resolve burnout.
The autonomic nervous system is the operating system your life runs on. When its coherence is constantly being disrupted, mental fatigue, loss of clarity, and overwhelm set in — followed by anxiety, erosion of self-trust, and an inability to build the capacity needed to meet what life is asking of you.
When that system is overwhelmed, no strategy functions as intended.
What We Do
Our work is nervous-system–first, restoring clarity and building capacity.
We help people regain inner authority — the ability to think clearly, choose deliberately, and act without force.
As the internal system stabilizes, clarity and choice become possible again.
Capacity follows regulation.
Forward motion follows clarity.
Our Orientation
Biology of Being® is not a performance tool.
It does not operate through motivation or productivity frameworks. We don’t optimize people.
We recalibrate systems.
From restored regulation, clarity becomes accessible again — and from that place, the sustainable change required to thrive truly becomes possible.
Biology of Being® — stabilizing the system everything else runs on

About the Founder

Biology of Being® was founded by Gina Carlson Hays.
Gina's work began in the 1990s, long before nervous-system regulation entered mainstream conversations. It developed through years of hands-on exploration at the intersection of mind, body, breath, movement, and high-stakes performance.
Gina’s approach emerged during years of searching for language, theory, and support that could meet the lived experience of anxiety and self-doubt under pressure. Unable to find practitioners or frameworks working directly with nervous-system regulation in real time, she began developing what was missing — body-grounded methods that could reorganize the nervous system, creating safety, clarity, and confidence when it mattered most.
